                        ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE SERVICES  at MSE

Memphis School of Excellence supports the district's mission and seeks to provide educational opportunities specific to the needs of English Learners such that students may succeed academically in the following content areas: Social & Instructional, Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies while meeting Title III & OCR compliance measures.

MISSION

The mission of MSE ESL Services is to provide ELLs with second language instruction that will lead them to English language proficiency and enable them to participate equitably in both social and academic settings.

VISION

The vision of MSE-ESL services is to ensure that English learners whose first language is not English develop linguistic, cognitive, and academic skills to participate in academically rigorous setting and become competitive citizens of our society;  through respecting and building upon the unique cultural and linguistic attributes they bring to our learning community.
