Mugire Ayci-Assistant Executive Director
It is with great excitement and joy that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Executive Director of Memphis School of Excellence. I am honored to join your team with its culture of high academic achievement and remain dedicated to working in partnership with the board, Mr. Beyhan, the principals, teachers, students, and parents in making this a great upcoming school year!
I would like to tell you a little about myself and my family. First and foremost, I am a husband and father. My wife Ayse and I have 3 children, two girls, and a boy ranging in age from 3 to 10 years old. We also have a german shepherd girl who keeps us pretty busy, she never gets tired of running around and playing fetch. I am a semi-professional soccer player, I played in different leagues for almost 15 years. Reading is my favorite activity, the last book I read was Chess Story, by Stefan Zweig which is highly recommended to all.
I completed a Bachelor's degree in Science Education in 2007. I then attended UT-Tyler for a master's in Educational Administration and graduated in 2014. I am a proud Patriot of UT-Tyler, where I earned my principal & superintendent certifications as well. I plan to complete an Ed.D. degree by 2025, focusing on public school administration. I am also a graduate of Harvard Business School and Relay Graduate School, where I received full-year courses in school leadership / instructional quality.
Most of my career in education has been in the public charter schools of Texas: Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso, and lastly in Houston. Over the past twelve years, I’ve joyfully worked as a teacher, testing coordinator, instructional coach, and curriculum director. Lastly, I have been proudly serving as the principal of one of Harmony Public Schools` flagship campuses, located at NW Houston. I have worn different hats in charter school operations and instruction, so I am pretty confident that we will make MSE even a better place for students.
As the Assistant Executive Director, I am committed to working with all educational stakeholders to carry out our vision and mission in helping our students achieve their full potential and prepare them for future success in both college and career. I am energetic, passionate and I truly love engaging with other team members each day. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you as well as being a part of the family as we begin the upcoming school year. Thus far, I have heard nothing but great things about the School of Excellence and I am very excited about making this move from Texas to Tennessee.
