Biography
About Miss Wilson...
Passionate for education and STEM, Ms. Nycoria Wilson is a native of Brownsville, TN. She has
served as an outstanding Math teacher at Memphis School of Excellence for the past 2 years, and
been in education for 12 years. She has spent her career as an educator as both a Math and
Science teacher of middle school students. Ms. Wilson has served in several different leadership
roles over the years displaying competence, innovation, and creativity that has marked her
professional life. As a teacher leader, she is empowering and motivating to her colleagues, and
enjoys mentoring and coaching teachers. She identifies as a lifelong learner.
Ms. Wilson holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Pre-Med emphasis from
Lane College, her Master of Arts in Education: Teaching Excellence from Bethel University, and
is currently working toward a Education Specialist Degree in Administration and Supervision
from Freed Hardeman University. She also received her certification as a Professional Life
Coach from Net Institute.
When she is outside of the classroom, Ms. Wilson enjoys listening to music and podcasts,
spending time with her daughter and going to the gym. One of her favorite quotes is from
Benjamin Franklin, “Tell me, and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I
learn.” Her leadership skills and experience will bring continued success to the teachers and
students in the classroom.
